Our Camaro Project Car

The Camaro has progressed without any problems so far. The firewall panel has been made and fitted and using our 3D measuring system, the steering column mountings are “Mirror Imaged”, manufactured and fitted to the right hand side. The Column assembly is bolted into place exactly opposite the factory LHD position. The wiper panel is cut away on the RH side and reshaped to replicate the LH side allowing the Brake booster/master cylinder assembly to fit and function as per OE. The original brake assembly and pedal box is installed.

The Dashboard is currently being cut into sections and reinstalled to mock up for moulding the Carbon Fibre RHD replacement. This is, technically, a big job and involves careful planning to incorporate Airbags, heater controls, gauges, glovebox and demisters etc. Careful attention is paid to this process as it will be the most obvious part of the conversion when completed.

Pictures will be added with the next posting.

Cheers, Brad.
