GTR Skyline Godzilla
The latest project on the floor here is a 1992 Nissan “GTR”, the REAL deal not a made up 2wd or wanna be.
Steve has owned an R32 for a number of years and recently fitted GTR rear 1/4’s, front guards, Bumper, bonnet, grille, lights and sills etc. The car is by no means standard mechanically and the performance in 2wd platform is “fun” and with the gloss black paint and tints etc, it is a good looking clone.
However having completed that conversion Steve started looking for another progression and quite by chance found a Veilside, wide body kit, (used but in perfect condition) in the USA. It was snapped up and stored while he relocated to Nelson and settled in this year.
Well a GTR was bought early this month and the big kit fitted. The monster 90mm each wider rear 1/4’s meant that 13″ rear rims are required to fill them so the original rear 1/4 panel archs have been cut away and radiused and new inner tubs made and fitted to provide the massive wheels room to nestle underneath them. Of course a ridiculously low ride height is set with a set of adjustables to further accentuate the hugely wide rear end.
Naturally all fabrication is being done by Steve and myself with emphasis on a “no comprimise” basis to achieve the ultimate Godzilla. It is almost ready for primer now and pictures of progress will be added during the next week.
Watch this Space for a result that will be absolutely awesome.
