The Holden VK 1984 05 project is progressing, stripped of interior and running gear etc and on stands, the body shell has had the OE noise deadening removed from the underside and inside floor etc.
The front guards and rear 1/4’s have been cut and reshaped up to 135 mm and the inner rears modified and reattached to the outer 1/4 panels.
The rear doors have been cut away and reshaped to appear original while retaining their structural integrity.
The fuel filler has been removed and the hole filled in. The factory filler has then been moved rearward and re-welded in place. The original race car filler was not used but on our car it will remain a functional part so it had to be moved back to allow the fuel filler access door to clear the big arch flares for fuelling.

The original, HDT Group C body kit has now been mounted and pic’s show the huge track these cars had.

The roll cage is now being fabricated to MANZ standard while keeping as close to the 1984 spec as possible and the body is having all paint stripped off in preparation for “file finishing”, an almost forgotten art of panel beating where the body work is hammered and filed smooth without the use of fillers (or bog).
The engine is being rebuilt with Group C spec’s and suspension components getting powder coated and re-bushed ready to refit.
Keep an eye on this project, we are getting a lot of interest and support for it.
The OE Alpine White and Dayglo Orange (Marlboro) 2K paint is underway and I am looking forward to getting the project to paint stage. 7x day weeks and 12-14 hour days are starting to take a toll.

Having nearly completed the BMW restoration, we have now had delivered another project from the same client. Alot of our business is repeat custom.
With the realism that these cars are few and hard to pry away from their owners, this vehicle will be a replica of the highly sought after “Formula Blue” meanies.
A 308 VK sedan has been supplied and allready has the V8 disc brake rear end and blue interior. Engine has been pulled and stripped for rebuild to Group A spec and to have a 5 speed manual g/box adapted up.
16×9.5 rear and 16x 8.5 front aero directional alloy wheels have been sourced and Group A front skirt and rear spoiler so this project is moving ahead now also.

Brad’s is constantly delivering high expectations for customers specific vehicle desires.

This VY II Commodore is being fitted with monster 20 x 10″ and 20″x 9″”DTM alloy wheels/tyres and lowered with heavy duty Lovell springs and a body kit.
20 x 10″s don’t fit the body, so rolling and widening the rear wheel arches, rear bumper and rear doors have all been necessary to get the tyres inside throughout the full range of suspension travel.
Not a big job in itself but what a great look and result for the customer.

Attention to detail is taken throughout the project with the bumper mesh being powder coated to resist stone chipping and all suspension repainted black and brake callipers painted red as is significant to HSV vehicles.
A great looking vehicle update and a happy customer.
