Brads continues to set the “Benchmark for Quality and Service” with this year also being accepted by the MTA as an Approved Sructural Repairer.
We achieved this accreditation late in 2009 and look forward to being part of this great organisation during 2010.

Xmas/New Years

We have had a great year for 2009. Our staff have done a hell of a job this year so they are taking the Xmas/New Years Holiday season off to relax with their families etc from Dec 24th to Jan 5th. However we will still be open (other than the Statutory holidays) with a small crew including myself, to take care of your vehicle repair enquiry’s.
We will be able to keep your car going over the holiday season with temporary repairs and our courtesy cars are always available too of course (free of charge for insured customers) should you require.

VK Commodore SS Group C

Some long hours have gone in over the last month or so and the body is completely painted inside and out now.
The entire boot interior and rear 1/4 panels have been lined out with noise matt, as has the rear seat bulkhead and parcel shelf. This product is often overlooked in builds but offers a significant reduction in exhaust and road noise transfer, into the passenger area.
This week will see the bumpers, spoiler and arch flares rubbed and painted and the black applied to the door frames and around the tail lamps.
Assembly is well under way, with the old factory central locking system removed in readiness for new alarm and remote central locking system.
Windows will be sent for tinting this week and outer door handles will be sandblasted to ensure a good key before being painted.
The 5 speed gearbox will be installed onto the engine, brakes will be bled up and radiator checked and fitted.
I will start posting pictures regularly now as there is progress to see.

Skiwi Rentals in Nelson

Skiwi Rentals is a Jet ski, Wave runner, Boat and Quad Bike hire company in Las Vegas, owned and operated by a couple of ex Nelson guys.
Todd and Craig are looking to spend some time back here in Nelson over Summer and they will be operating their Wave runner hire company here from December to February, with a fleet of modern 4 stroke Yamaha ski’s.
We are always keen to support local people and we are hiring ski’s off these boys over the Christmas/Holiday season to enjoy with our staff.
If you are interested in hiring a 2-3 seater ski this summer, keep and eye on our website (for a link to be added shortly), for bookings or contact us directly.
If you are going to be staying at one of the local camping grounds here in Nelson, they will deliver ski’s on a 1, 2, or 4 ski trailer to your site for you and pick it up at the end of your hire.
Get together with your mates and book in early to ensure you dont miss out on a whole heap of on the water fun and remember their catch phrase, “Ride it like a Rental”.

Skiwi Rentals have contracted Brads Smash Repairs for repairs and servicing during their operating season and we look forward to supporting this exciting new company.

Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000

Next weekend is the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, great race and although I wont be glued to the TV, it will be the dominant feature of the weekend for us.
I am picking the pairing of Greg Murphy and Mark Scaife and hey, while they might not have the fastest car this year, they would have to be the driver team with the most success on the mountain for this year.

Nelson Drag Racing Support

Last month, we were approached by the local Drag Racing Association for support.
We have jumped on board with the club, (though we dont have a personal interest in the sport) and look forward to watching their progress. This year see’s a big investment going into their facility with new “real time” timing gear from the USA and a much upgraded facility.
We are always keen to support local people and sports in our region.
Nelson drag racing action this year will include 4 national rounds, so make some time to go out and see some of the countries top Drag Cars in action and support the locals with us.
